theUtmost Unusually, I found it easy to pick a fave track for this! Am loving the dub on my sub and brassy funk of Duende Revisited. Track was marred a little (for me) by the dubstep breakdown at 3:20-3:45, it seemed a little incongruous with the rest of the vibe (and I _like_ dubstep), but some may like that part best! :P Keep up the deep dub sounds! More like this please! Favorite track: Duende Revisited.

SUBSET returns with the Aperture EP, which blends live instrumentation with electronic and dub sensibilities.

The upbeat opener Duende Revisited, recorded live at the Brisbane Meanjin Reggae Festival, revolves around horns from an earlier tune, dropped atop a gnarly bass squelch. The moody I Am Earthbound is awash with richly effected layers of guitar and bass, while the dub-techno inspired Habitat is enlivened by melodica. The title track's shuffling dub groove perfectly leads in to the closing Solutions of Synthesis, a deep exploration of the origins of life.

As in photography, the Aperture EP is many-structured, filtering light and sound, and focussing to a point of many colours, moods and emotions.

Pure Quality vibes! Sudden Reverb do dub in culture soaked slicing edge sounds. Rarely a record doesn’t remind me of someone else, there are traces of tradition, like horns, yet it all comes in a deliciously fresh and deep bass driven mixture.. pitch black and subset do their awesome ting and you get..
